Prince Hall Shrine History. . .
Noble John G. Jones established
our organization on June 3, 1893. Its incorporation took place on December 12,
1900. The Shrine Organization takes great pride in its Auxiliary, which is
comprised of wives, sisters, mothers and daughters of the membership –
officially styled, the Imperial Court Daughters of Isis.
The
Imperial Potentate, and the Daughters by the Imperial Commandress, heads the
Shrine. The men of the organization, Nobles, wear the red Fez; and the women,
Daughters of Isis, wear the white Fez. Most importantly, both are community
servants.
The
Imperial Council of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine of
North and South America and Its Jurisdictions, Incorporated and Islam Temple No.
182 of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine of North and South
America and Its Jurisdictions, is a benevolent, charitable, educational and
fraternal organization of Prince Hall Shriners, dedicated to charitable, civic,
economic and educational development programs.
Our
worldwide fraternal group has a membership of approximately 35,000 in some 229
Temples and over 200 Courts (its women’s auxiliary) throughout the Continental
United States, Canada, Germany, Italy, England, Spain, Japan, Korea, Guam,
Thailand, Panama and the Bahamas.
We
foster a multitude of national charitable programs providing educational grants
for scholarships; endorsement of the Assault On Illiteracy Program (AOIP); the
establishment of a Prince Hall Shrine Health and Medical Research Foundation;
providing financial aid in the fight against drugs, crime and juvenile
delinquency; and making significant contributions to the fight against Sickle
Cell disease and have established a philanthropic partnership with the American
Diabetes Association (ADA).
