Islam Temple Illustrious Potentate's Corner

Illustrious Potentate Noble Derick Johnson
Giving Honor to Jesus Christ my savior and Pillar of Support that has helped me realize that; I shall pass this way but once; any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
Islam Temple No. 182 22nd Illustrious Potentate, Derick Johnson. Born December 12, 1954 in Starkville, Mississippi. I was raised up on my Grand Fathers’ farm working long hard hours seven days a week. There I learned my work ethics and many thanks to my Grand Father for taking the time to teach me. I am honored to be blessed with such a wonderful partner, my best friend and wife for over 32 years, my first lady, Sonja Johnson. We have two wonderful children, one Daughter and Son. My wonderful mother Elmira Johnson gave birth to seven children, four Daughters, and three Sons. The family was devastated last year by the death of my sister Angela Robinson. May she rest in peace.
I am a visionary and have been Blessed with the ability to take off the blinders and think with an open mind. Knowing and appreciating our history is about more than celebrating the past. We must draw on our inspiration for the present and hope for our future. Simply put, once you know how history was made, you can make it yourself, benefiting from the lessons and building on the accomplishments of those who came before me in Islam Temple No. 182.
