Who We Are. . . .
Established May 6th 1972, Islam Temple serves as a charitable
non-profit organization and dispenses charity in the Pensacola community. We
embrace all of the basic fundamental concepts of the Masonic Order, but with the
more colorful and broader spectrum of Prince Hall Shrinedom.
We are
men of many talents, experience, and backgrounds who believe that together we
can make a difference in our community, country and the world. As brothers we
offer each other fraternal respect and as Shriners we pledge to care for the
less fortunate especially children who cannot help themselves and suffer from
crippling ailments. We believe in the existence of a higher power that created
man to provide service to others and we honor our country and families with
integrity, virtue and noble character.
On the
local level Islam Temple No. 182 has provided support to many local charitable
endeavors and programs such as the Sickle Cell / Cerebral Palsy Association,
American Diabetes
Association and the Pensacola Boys and Girls Clubs. We provide financial
support and volunteer hours to many Educational / Charity Programs, such as the
United College Fund and the Shriners Hospitals for crippled children.
Many of our members serve as
active board members for local community service organizations. We help raise
thousands of dollars toward Educational Scholarships annually to selected and
deserving college / university bound students, we prepare and deliver over 50
food baskets during our Annual Charitable Holiday Food Basket Program for the
less fortunate,
